Essaza Scandinavia \u2013 Sweden F\u00f6rening is a registered non-profit association (ideell f\u00f6rening) based in Kungs\u00e4ngen, Sweden. Established in 2016, the organisation serves as the official representation of the Buganda Kingdom in the Scandinavian region.<\/p>\n
The association\u2019s primary goal is to promote unity, culture, and development among Baganda and other Ugandans living in Scandinavia. It acts as a bridge between the Kabaka of Buganda and his subjects in Northern Europe, ensuring that Buganda\u2019s heritage and traditions continue to thrive within the diaspora.<\/p>\n
Essaza Scandinavia is under the leadership of:
\n– Owek. Nelson Mugenyi, Representative (Omubaka) of the Kabaka to Scandinavia, appointed by His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda.
\n– Omukungu Kabugo Baker William, Deputy Representative, also appointed by the Kabaka.
\n– Omukungu Muweesi Hannington, Second Deputy Representative, likewise appointed by the Kabaka.<\/p>\n
Together, this leadership team oversees the organisation\u2019s activities, upholds the Kabaka\u2019s vision, and strengthens the bonds between Buganda and its people across the Scandinavian nations.<\/p>\n
Essaza Scandinavia organises and supports a variety of cultural and community initiatives, including:
\n– The Annual Buganda Youth Camp in Scandinavia.
\n– The Kabaka Birthday Run and related health and charity projects.
\n– Cultural events, community gatherings, and heritage celebrations.
\n– Diaspora engagement programs connecting Baganda abroad with their roots in Buganda.<\/p>\n
Through these initiatives, the organisation fosters a spirit of togetherness, cultural pride, and development among Ugandans in Northern Europe.<\/p>\n
The term Scandinavia traditionally refers to three countries in Northern Europe that share close historical, cultural, and linguistic ties:
