Essaza Scandinavia youth Camp

Essaza Scandinavia is a royal province that includes the following countries: Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark and Norway. Through its youth department, the Kabaka established the Ensibuko Zaffe Youth Camp, which operates under the theme “Baganda Youth for a Better Buganda.”

Buganda Youth Camp – Objectives
- Promote Traditional Culture: Preserve, promote, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Baganda, while welcoming participation from friends of Buganda.
- Strengthen Social, Cultural, and Economic Engagement: Support the youth in taking part in social, cultural, and economic activities through partnerships with organizations and institutions.
- Foster Personal Growth and Strong Interpersonal Relationships: Create a supportive environment where young people can develop confidence, leadership skills, and meaningful connections.
- Inspire Youth Participation in Buganda’s Development: Encourage young people to actively engage in and support development initiatives within Buganda.
- Bridge the Gap Between Youth in Uganda and the Diaspora: Connect youth born and raised in Uganda with those living in Europe and other parts of the world to promote unity, understanding, and shared identity.
- Empower the Youth: Equip young people with knowledge, skills, and opportunities that enable them to thrive socially, culturally, and economically.

Traditional Clothing
Olubugo (bark cloth) is the traditional clothing for baganda. In the past, bark cloth was the primary material for making garments for both men and women. It was used to wrap around the body and, at times, fashioned into more complex garments with intricate designs.
Kanzu for Men, Gomesi for Women: The kanzu is the traditional dress for men, often worn during formal events and ceremonies.
Women traditionally wear the gomesi, a dress with a unique style and vibrant colors. These garments are highly symbolic, worn during significant life events, such as weddings or cultural festivals
